Salary Negotiations
Now that you’ve successfully navigated the interviews and landed a job offer, how do you negotiate a salary or benefits?
Have you ever taken a job, secretly wanting more than what you accepted?
A common question I ask my clients at this stage is, “Would you like to wait another 3-5 years to get the salary that you were hoping or deserved?”
This service would focus on how to prepare for a salary negotiation and how to buy yourself time to make a sound decision.
What’s in it for me?
Too many times in my career, I’ve seen a bright, qualified candidate simply blow a salary negotiation with a hiring manager. It was the greatest hits of “what’s in it for me?” that came across as selfish and even aggressive which turned off an organization.
Conducting a salary negotiation when done well is like watching an artist navigating the grey space to get what he or she is really wanting without offending the organization that wants to hire them. It’s a combination of humility, objectivity, preparedness, patience, and artful communication that can help you get what you’re wanting.
This session would include numerous role plays as well as preparing tools for an objective salary negotiation so that both parties can have a meaningful conversation to workout a best resolution for both parties.
I’ll also share what really happens behind closed doors when it comes to a salary range and any additional benefits package.
